Hiking Paradise

Explore the regions flanking the Wörthersee and in the surrounding mountains! Join us and experience magnificent hill-country hikes far away from the hustle and bustle, accompanied by pristine countryside and countless mountain inns. Many of the hiking routes lead out to unique sights and attractions, including Sommeregg Castle and the Bodental Valley, a true natural jewel.
You, too, can enjoy those gentle breezes as you stroll along the Wörthersee Lake Loop, measuring some 65 km in total length.

Nordic Walking
|

Nordic Walking is a gentle and effective form of all-around training. It was originally developed as summer training for Finnish cross-country skiers. But by 2003, it had already grown into a sport with a broad base of participants. Unlike classic power walking, walking with poles not only gives the legs a workout, it also exercises the muscles of the abdomen, chest and arms.
Nordic Walking is suitable for all age groups and all ability levels. And the countryside around Velden provides the perfect setting. During our Vitality and Health Weeks, we also have walking poles available for you to borrow.

Whether you prefer a relaxing pedal through delightful countryside, or combining exploration of the Wörthersee and its environs with serious athletic challenges, cyclists will soon learn that the Wörthersee is a true paradise. What better way to discover this region and all its special places than perched on your bicycle saddle. Variety-filled bike tours take you to our most beautiful sights and scenic lookout points.
